Birdwood Sanctuary Estate is bounded on three sides by 55 hectares of natural bushland that has been preserved forever to protect the endangered Black Breasted Button Quail.

This shy and rarely seen bird makes its home in the undergrowth of the wildlife preserve. Other native bird species, echidnas, lizards and small wallabies are also found here.

Many native trees have been marked for preservation throughout the estate. The developer encourages the planting of local native flora, and has taken care to configure the estate so trees selected for preservation do not interfere with fence lines or roads.
